I’m back from my busy two weeks. :) It was actually pretty fun and not that tiring.
So the trip. On the first day, we drove from Taichung to Tainan and went to Chi Mei Museum. It was okay, kind of boring but yeah. Then we drove to Kaohsiung and looked at my Dad’s new company (not the one with the grand opening, another one). It was sort of like a rest stop since we did nothing. x) At last, we checked in the Splendor hotel. I think it’s the tallest hotel in Taiwan, with 85 floors. My favorite part was the buffet breakfast haha.
Second day, we had a lot planned but didn’t get to most of it due to lack of time. We only stopped at this meatball…bread…shop thing in Hualien…because it’s supposedly well-known for it. xD Then we drove to our hotel, Far Glory, and ohmy, it was so cool. It’s built on a mountain so it’s like, on a slant and it’s built like a castle! :o It was so hard to drive up there because of the winding roads but it was fun. In front of it was an amusement park that was SO HUGE and also castle-like. It was a cool hotel. :)
Third day was the ‘funnest’; we went whale-watching but we only saw dolphins haha. We went on this big boat and the waves were huge so I got totally soaked but it was so fun. There were so many dolphins as well and they were just swimming alongside us. However, fun came with a price. My head got totally sun burnt so now it’s red and so painful. Ow. I wore a hat but it was too windy so it kept flying off so I just took it off. Big mistake. Ouch. That was in Hualien as well and then we drove to our hotel in Yilan.
The hotel that day was really awesome too. It was like a Japanese-styled room…with TWO FLOORS and a hot tub thing. It was amazing. :)
Fourth and last day, we drove through the longest tunnel in Taiwan connecting Yilan with Taipei. It took about 11 minutes. Then we went to Taipei 101, the tallest building IN THE WORLD. Well, I think it’s the 2nd now because of the stupid building in Dubai (no offense xD) but oh well, that building’s not done yet so I’m still going to say 101 is #1. :D Anyways, we went up to the 89th floor on the fastest elevator in the world, traveling like 1000something km in 37 seconds. Everything looked tiny from up there. x) We also went outside on the 91st floor but we couldn’t really see anything. We also walked down to the 88th floor and looked at, I think one of the biggest, dampers. (They’re the thing that “absorbs” earthquakes so the building doesn’t shake as badly.) Then we had lunch and we all went home, for my family, it was back to Taichung. :D
There you go, my trip in a nutshell, if anyone cares.
It’s finally summer and I’m already back in Taiwan. I finished my provincial on the 20th and was on the plane the night of. Everything is so rushed because we have so much to do before the end of June/beginning of July. 23rd (the day after I arrived) - My family and I went to this temple for a last, I don’t know what you call it so I’m going to say “thing”. I was so tired and I almost fainted because we had to stand still for over an hour. o_O 25th (today in Taiwan, tomorrow in Canada) - The grand opening of my dad’s new company (a branch) and so we had to get up at 5 AM to get all ‘prettified’. 29th ~ 2nd - My entire family on my dad’s side is going on a road trip across Taiwan. :) I hope it’s fun but I know it’s going to be so hot and exhausting. I hate to say it, but I’m not looking forward to it. x_x So there it is. My entire summer all crammed in two weeks. I think I’m still suffering from jet lag so I hope that goes away soon. How is everyone’s summer so far? :D
…to me! :) Yes. It’s my birthday. I’m 17. :o Gosh I’m old. Um well nothing exciting happened today. I had two hours of English which totally sucked and I had to write a poem analysis in the second hour so that sucked even more. After school, I went to play badminton with my friend and she bought me a cake! :o If she ever reads this, thanks again. Then I went out for dinner. But it sucked as well because instead of just me and my mom, my mom’s friend was working there and so she kept coming to talk to us and in the end, SAT DOWN and wouldn’t leave us alone. O_o Anyhoo, today was still a good day overall. :) I’m going to keep this short and go eat my cake! :D
I changed the layout! :) It’s so simple and clean. I’ve been using the last one for almost half a year now so I felt that it was much needed change. However, I did not add any content because I’m still extremely busy with school work. I just took a break from my studying to code my layout and stuff. I did run into a bit more trouble than I thought I would. I couldn’t center my layout! o_O And I wanted to get rid of that space above the header image but I can’t! If I use the position:absolute code, it right aligns the header for some reason. Does anyone know how to fix it? Anyways, this layout will most likely be up until at least September because I am sure not going to change it in a month and I leave in a month and won’t have access to Photoshop and FTP and all of that. Well, I will be returning comments from the last few posts soon so hopefully that will bring back some visitors. :D I should go back to my studying and Skittles-eating. Yum.
Wow, it’s been almost a month since I last blogged. I won’t bother apologizing because I’m sure no one even visits anymore. :( However, in my defense, I have been extremely busy, what with the catching up and studying for final exams and provincials. It’s crazy. It’s almost the end of the school year so I’m starting to review for my Socials provincial exam, which isn’t looking too good because I’ve been too busy with other stuff that I’ve been neglecting it. So the title. In Socials, we’re studying French Canada and Aboriginals so that pretty much explains itself. I’m studying for tomorrow’s test right now. We rushed through this chapter so quickly because we’re running out of time. I hate it when teachers “mis-plan” and we end up rushing. In math, we’re doing geometry in a circle. :) I hate geometry. I can’t see the shapes! Hopefully I start seeing them because I have a test on it next week. I should get back to my studying but if the workload lessens anytime soon, I will try my best to update and a layout is on its way. It’s done, I just need to put it up. I promise I will have it up before school ends. :D
